Live music changed everything for me.

What is By Q?

BY Q is an independent live music publication focused on documenting the atmosphere, emotion, and culture surrounding live performance through editorial coverage and concert photography.

Founded by Arkansas-based photographer Que, BY Q approaches live music through a documentary lens — capturing not only the artists onstage, but the energy, intimacy, and connection that exist within the crowd itself.

I’m Que!

I’ve always been drawn to stories that feel loud, emotional, and alive.

Before photography, storytelling showed up in everything I touched — writing, editing, drawing, documenting the people around me. Photography eventually became the medium that let me hold onto moments exactly as they felt.

Live music changed everything for me.

There’s something honest about concerts that can’t be recreated anywhere else. The blur of movement, strangers screaming lyrics together, the exhaustion after the lights come up, the connection between artists and the crowd — that’s what I’m chasing with my camera.

My work focuses on documenting live performances from the perspective of the people inside the room, not just from the barricade. I care about atmosphere just as much as the artist. The tiny interactions. The chaos. The softness hidden inside loud music.

Based in Arkansas and traveling whenever possible, I photograph concerts, tours, local shows, and artists with an emphasis on authenticity, emotion, and energy.

Whether I’m shooting a packed venue, a DIY room, or a theater stage, I want the final gallery to feel like being there again.

It’s so much more than performance photos to me it’s -

  • crowd interaction

  • fan connection

  • behind-the-scenes moments

  • tour life

  • emotional lighting and atmosphere

  • movement and motion blur

  • the feeling of live music instead of perfectly polished performance shots
